April at Fennies
The past month at Fennies Kidbrooke, Whittle Road has been one of discovery, celebration, and unforgettable learning moments. The children have had the opportunity to connect with nature in new and exciting ways, as well as explore cultural traditions that broaden their understanding of the world around them.
One of the most anticipated experiences this month has been the arrival of duck eggs to the nursery. The children are watching in awe as the eggs begin to hatch, observing the transformation from egg to duckling firsthand. This hands-on experience is not only captivating but also supports their understanding of life cycles, responsibility, and the natural world. Over the coming weeks, the children will nurture the ducklings as they grow before they return to the farm, an enriching and memorable journey for all involved.
In addition to this, the nursery came together to celebrate Ramadan and Eid towards the end of March. Children learned about the significance of these events through stories, creative activities and themed role play, embracing the values of kindness, gratitude and togetherness. These celebrations provided valuable opportunities to celebrate different cultures, promote inclusivity and encourage meaningful discussions among peers.
As always, the team at Fennies Kidbrooke continues to foster an environment where curiosity, compassion and community are at the heart of every experience. With engaging activities that celebrate both the natural world and cultural diversity, the nursery remains a place where children are empowered to grow, explore and thrive.
