Kidbrooke Village, located in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, is a thriving and diverse community that combines modern urban living and green open spaces. Which you can be transported to in just 16 minutes from London Bridge station.
With a rich history dating back to Anglo Saxon times, it was once home to the RAF during the Second World War. In 2007, Berkeley entered into a partnership with the Royal Borough of Greenwich and the Greater London Authority to deliver the masterplan for the £1 billion regeneration of Kidbrooke Village on the site of the former Ferrier Estate.
Regarded as one of London’s most significant regeneration schemes, Kidbrooke Village currently has over 2,400 new homes. Upon completion (targeted date 2032), this number will rise to over 5,000, out of those 1,930 will be affordable properties with 1,129 delivered so far.
A core feature of Berkeley’s approach to new housing developments is its emphasis on placemaking and creating successful places that people are proud of and want to stay. Examples of this in action at Kidbrooke Village include:
- The award winning Cator Park , which saw Berkeley work with the London Wildlife Trust to rewild and build a wildlife rich landscape at a cost of £2.9m. This has already increased the net-bio diversity gain to 99% and is set to exceed 200% upon completion across the Village by 2036.
- A new £2.1m ecological sustainable playground designed in collaboration with Adventure Playground Engineers who were responsible for the Olympic Park playground. With all materials sourced and / or produced within England.
- A new £2.9m station which sits in the heart of the developments Pegler Square.
- A new village centre, home to a variety of shops and places to eat and drink , Farmers Markets and community events.
- 2,500 sqm of new Healthcare and community facility floor space provisions .
- Providing £550,000 of investment to the delivery of Wingfield Primary Schools new facility.
