Duchess crowned the winner

October saw Friends of Sutcliffe Park welcome over 30 guests to Artfix café in Kidbrooke Village to announce the winners of their wildlife photography competition which was supported by Berkeley and Royal Borough of Greenwich.

Over 70 entries were received in response to the brief to photograph the range of animals, birds, insects and invertebrates that live in Sutcliffe Park which holds Green Flag status, along with the award winning Cator Park. From here, the judging panel made up of amateur photographers and previous competition winners shortlisted their top five entries who shared £500 of vouchers from Berkeley whilst the Royal Borough of Greenwich and Artfix provided a selection of prizes.

Kidbrooke Village resident, Ranjit Kaur, saw her photograph titled ‘The Duchess of Sutcliffe Park’ named as the winner and took home a £200 voucher from Berkeley, along with a bird feeder and food basket from ArtFix.

Second prize went to Atilia Preszter’s – ‘Soaring Spirits. Tracey Melish’s. – ‘The Honeymoon Suite’ came third. Fourth place was awarded to Core Chan’s – The Swan Family and Tassos Tzezairlidis – ‘Heron Flight’ came Highly Commended.
