July at Fennies

July at Fennies Kidbrooke, Whittle Road has been a month full of creativity, cultural exploration and immersive learning experiences.

This month, our preschool children have also taken a fascinating journey into Ancient Roman culture. They explored traditional clothing by designing their own togas and tunics using a variety of fabrics and materials, sparking rich conversations about history and cultural traditions.

Their creativity continued as they used clay and other malleable materials to build impressive Roman structures, including the Pantheon and the Colosseum. These hands-on projects supported fine motor development, encouraged problem-solving and helped children connect with history in a fun and meaningful way. It’s been a fantastic example of how cross-curricular learning can ignite imagination and deepen understanding.

A standout moment was our recent Open Morning, where we were thrilled to welcome both new and familiar families into the nursery. It was a brilliant opportunity for visitors to explore our purpose-built spaces and meet the passionate educators who bring learning to life every day. The warm, welcoming atmosphere and positive feedback made the event a real success, and we’re so grateful to everyone who came along.
