March at Fennies
The last month at Fennies Kidbrooke, Whittle Road has been filled with enriching activities, community celebrations and exciting experiences. Children have engaged in a variety of learning opportunities, from exploring the great outdoors to celebrating special occasions that bring their families and teams together.
The Explorers group enjoyed a trip to Crater Park, where they observed ducks on the water and experienced the sights and sounds of nature. Outdoor learning plays a vital role in Early Years development, supporting sensory exploration, communication and an appreciation for the natural environment. These experiences encourage curiosity and provide opportunities for children to engage in meaningful conversations about the world around them.
The Inventors children took their learning outside with a visit to the square, where they spotted early signs of spring. This became a source of inspiration for them as they gathered ingredients to use back at nursery. In celebration of World Book Day, these ingredients were transformed into nutritional, delicious treats, incorporating cooking as a hands-on learning experience that promotes independence, creativity and teamwork.
The team at Fennies Kidbrooke were also recognised during a special Team Appreciation Event. Children expressed their gratitude through thoughtful drawings, while parents contributed by writing personal messages of appreciation. A raffle was also organised to celebrate the dedication and hard work of the nursery team, reinforcing the strong sense of community within the setting.
Another highlight of the month was their Open Day on March 1st, which welcomed families eager to learn more about the Fennies experience. The event provided an opportunity for parents to explore the purpose-built nursery, meet the team and gain insight into the enriching curriculum designed to support children’s development. The day was a great success, offering a glimpse into the engaging learning environments and high-quality care provided at the Kidbrooke Nursery.
